Re-Energizing your spirit
Life is hectic enough, Pearl gives 6 quick steps to simplify and recharge to allow you to get through the day.
Father's Day 2007
Today is Father’s Day 2007. . . I found that this my second Father’s day was a day filled with many more satisfying experiences than I would have ever imagined.
Chase is 13 months this Father’s day, as opposed to last year where he was barely a month old, this year he has lots of new skills. From a full wonderful laughter, to toddling throughout the house, to loving to use his soft soled shoes from Uncle John and Aunt Trish, to hugging Larry the Giraffe and that wonderful clap and smile. . .
What a Father’s Day! 🙂 Glenn

So what's that label on you? (How labels define reality)
Abbi Zeliff, guest blogs on mattress labels, life and her Christian faith for Lifechurch.tv She asks the question do you let the labels, “worrier”, “baby Christian”, . . . box you into a life and opportunities missed in your everyday experience.
She also asks you to think about the fine print. “. . . only to be removed by the rightful owner”
Quite a President
From The Christian Post
After he was shot March 30, 1981, Reagan said he looked up from a hospital gurney and prayed.
“But I realized I couldn’t ask for God’s help while at the same time I felt hatred for the mixed up young man who had shot me. Isn’t that the meaning of the lost sheep? We are all God’s children & therefore equally beloved by him. I began to pray for his soul and that he would find his way back to the fold,” the president wrote.”Ă‚Â End Excerpt from the Christian Post

Learning to Reach the Misunderstood Generation

You Want Us to Do What?
As with most careers, ministers’ job descriptions tend to morph into something they don’t recognize anymore. The great people of their church want them to “fix” everything from a leaky faucet in the downstairs bathroom to neighborhoods of lost people in the community. For some ministers the answers come easily, but then there are those not-so-easy-for-anyone-to-answer kinds of problems. For instance, if someone told you and your staff that reaching the young adults in your church and community was critical for the future of your church, would anyone among you know how to accomplish such a feat? . . .
Who has time to read the bible in a year?
I was listening to an online tool this morning and began to think about the Bible. Why is it important too me? Why do people read it? Is it relevant today?
As I listened to the passage from I Samuel, I had to think what on earth are these people talking about? Who cares that Samuel had sons and their names were Joel and Abijah?
But I kept listening. . . and I heard “The people have demanded!” What is it that these people were demanding? “Behold, you are old and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint for us a king to judge us like all the nations.”
Hmm. . . People demanding to be like the other nations. . .
Sounds kinda familiar. . . I like to follow the crowd too. It’s a lot easier than trudging through for myself and discerning God’s will for my life and work. It’s a lot easier to just let someone else do it and to make the rules/laws and tell me what to do.
It’s interesting that some people don’t read Scripture because that’s what they think it is, a bunch of old rules and laws for people ages ago.
But it’s a lot more than that. It’s a door to an understanding of who GOD is, and who WE are. “I come that you may have LIFE and have it to the full” John 10:10
But I’m kinda interested I’ll do a comment poll. How many of you have read the Old and New Testament?
If you haven’t read any but would like too, there is a nice little tool that will help you. It can even read the passage to you if you would like.
Go to Google and add a Gadget to your personalized home page “Read the Bible in a Year”
If you haven’t set that up just go to www.google.com and click on Personalize my Homepage.
